Ibrahim Ashk was a Hindi and Urdu poet, journalist, actor, and lyricist who was born in Madhya Pradesh in 1951 and hailed from Badnagar in Ujjain. After completion of his post-graduation in Hindi Literature in 1974 from Indore University, he worked as a journalist before becoming a lyricist. His well-known works as a lyricist have been for many films including Kaho Naa... Pyaar Hai, Yeh Teraa Ghar Yeh Meraa Ghar, Koi... Mil Gaya, Bombay to Bangkok, Krrish, Aetbaar and Dhund, etc. The veteran lyricist was diagnosed with COVID-19 pneumonia, which affected his lungs, and was admitted to Mumbai's Meditech Hospital on Saturday where he breathed his last on 16 January 2022 at the age of 70.
