Mukri was an Indian actor and comedian who was well known for his comic timing and appearances alongside Dilip Kumar. He made his debut in Bollywood with a supporting role in Bombay Talkies’ film Pratima (1945). It was followed by some great performances in movies like Anokha Pyar (1948), Amar (1954), Chori Chori (1956), Kala Pani (1958), Qaidi No. 911 (1959), Padosan (1968), Gopi (1970), Zindagi Zindagi (1972), Bundal Baaz (1976) and Amar Akbar Anthony (1977). He was married to Mumtaz and the couple had five children, including screenwriter Nasim Mukri.
