Ashanti is an action crime drama that follows the story of a young honest police officer, Inspector Kumar Chandra (Rajesh Khanna), who tries to intercept the bank robbery and arrest the culprits. However, he is tricked and framed for the robbery for which he is later sentenced for 20 years of prison. His mother dies out of shock, while he goes on to serve his punishment. After completing his sentence, he returns with only one goal to seek revenge from those who wronged him. Will he succeed in his mission?
