Credited as the ‘First Superstar of Indian Cinema’, Rajesh Khanna holds the record of 15 consecutive superhit movies between 1969 to 1971. He was the highest paid actor during the 1970s and 1980s. In 1965, Rajesh Khanna, along with actress Farida Jalal, won the All India Talent Contest, which also helped him to land the role in his debut film, which was Chetan Anand’s Aakhri Khat (1966). Some important movies of his career include Doli (1969), Kati Patang (1971), Sachaa Jhutha (1971), Haathi Mere Saathi (1971), Daag (1973), Aap Ki Kasam (1974), Agar Tum Na Hote (1983), Ghar Parivaar (1991), and many more. In 1973, he married actress Dimple Kapadia, with whom he had two daughters - actress Twinkle Khanna and Rinke Khanna, however, their marriage ended in 2012. In 2013, he was awarded the Padma Bhushan posthumously for his contribution to Indian cinema.
