Dharam Kanta is an action family drama. The movie follows the story of a dacoit named Thakur Bhawani Singh (Raaj Kumar), who heads a gang of dacoits. He leads a luxurious and comfortable life with the money earned from criminal activities. However, his life takes a turn, when an innocent child is killed during the process of kidnapping and collection of ransom money. It is then, the mother of the child curses Thakur Bhawani Singh with a lifetime of misery. Due to the curse, Bhawani Singh starts experiencing the sorrow and suffering the consequences of his crime. Will Bhawani Singh be able to make things right for himself and others in his gang?
