Ghar Parivar is a family drama. The movie follows the story of a family. Shankar (Rajesh Khanna), is the eldest brother, who loves his stepmother, Lakshmi (Dina Pathak), and stepbrothers, Balwant (Raj Kiran) and Birju (Rishi Kapoor), as his own. He sells all his property to send Balwant to the city for further education. Balwant then marries Bimla (Shoma Anand), and returns to his family. However, it becomes difficult for the city girl Bimla to adjust to the simple village life, and soon she becomes the reason for the split in the family. Will Shankar be able to keep the family united?
