Maalamaal is a comedy-drama that follows the story of a small-time cricketer, Rajkumar Saxena (Naseeruddin Shah), who lives in a slum area. His life takes a turn when he discovers that his grandfather has left the property of INR 330 billion in his name, but the condition is that he must spend INR 300 million within 30 days, or he’ll lose all the wealth. However, Rajkumar has never seen so much money in his entire life, and has no idea where to spend so much money. He then gets the help of his friend Govinda (Satish Shah), who gives him ideas to spend the money. Things aren’t easy for Rajkumar, as there are people who are after his money, and may go to any extent to get hold of his money. Will Rajkumar get his grandfather’s wealth that he well deserves?
