Naam O Nishan is an action thriller drama. The movie follows the story of a young man named Suraj (Sanjay Dutt), who lives a wealthy lifestyle with his father, Inspector Sangram Singh (Shashi Kapoor). Just like his father, Suraj too becomes a police inspector. He falls in love with Vanisha (Amrita Singh), and everything goes great for him. However, things take a turn when Suraj is framed for a murder and suspended from his job. Later, a woman comes to his rescue to prove his innocence, but she too gets killed in the process. It is then Suraj decides to locate the real culprits and learn the truth. Will Suraj be able to get the real culprits punished?
