Shamshera is a period action drama set in the 1800s that follows the story of a dacoit tribe that resides in the village of Kaza and is fighting for independence against British rule. The city of Kaza and its warrior tribe called Khamerans are imprisoned, enslaved & tortured by the ruthless tyranny of Shudh Singh (Sanjay Dutt) who works under the orders of the British. Heading the tribe's dignity and freedom against the British and Shudh Singh is Balli (Ranbir Kapoor) who is fearless and has a legacy to carry on his shoulders which was left incomplete by his father Shamshera (Ranbir Kapoor). Shamshera along with his tribal warriors finally sets up a faceoff against the British rule and Shudh Singh. How Shamshera goes about fighting his battle for his people’s freedom forms the remaining part of this thrill-a-minute story.
