Shriman Shrimati is a comedy family drama. The movie follows the story of a young and wealthy couple, Shankarlal (Sanjeev Kumar) and Parvati (Rakhee), who are appalled by the problems persisting in the society, especially those related to the households. Thus, the two decide to help different families to sort their household problems. They go on to help the first family consisting of a son, his dominating mother and uneducated wife, and help them mend their ways and respect one another. Second, they go on to help an elderly man and his drunkard son, and help the son to get rid of his addiction and own up to his responsibilities. In this way, the couple’s stories of helping other households to mend their ways and resolve their problems form the rest of the plot.
