Boota Singh Shaad, fondly known as B.S. Shaad was a writer, actor, producer and director who predominantly worked in Hindi as well as Punjabi language films. He was a renowned novelist who penned many novels before he entered films with the Punjabi film ‘Kulli Yaar Di’ in which he played the lead role. He then went on to direct and produce many Hindi- Punjabi films such as ‘Sacha Mera Roop Hai’, ‘Mittar Pyare Nu’, ‘Saidan Jogan’, ‘Giddha’, ‘Vairi’, ‘Laali’, ‘Nishaan’, ‘Himmat Aur Mehanat’, ‘Kasam Vardi Kee’, ‘Insaaf Ki Devi’, ‘Pehla Pehla Pyar’, ‘Smuggler’ etc.
