Born as Indrajeet Singh Johar, I. S. Johar was an excellent actor, writer, producer and director, who was best known for his comic roles. He acted in several movies from the 1950s to the early 1980s. In the later years of his career, he was more focused on producing and directing movies. He has acted in several Hindi, Punjabi and also international movies. Some important movies of his career include Nastik (1954), Bewakoof (1960), Johar-Mehmood in Goa (1965), Johar in Bombay (1967), Johar Mehmood in Hong Kong (1971), Banarasi Babu (1973), Kashmash (1973), Guru Ho Jaa Shuru (1979) and many more. I. S. Johar married five times. His first wife was Ramma Bains, with whom he had two children, a daughter named Ambika and a son named Anil. The two divorced, and then he married and divorced four more women and all his later marriages were childless. One of his later wives includes actress Sonia Sahni.
