Johny Mera Naam is a crime action drama which narrates the story of Sohan (Dev Anand) an undercover police officer who disguises himself as a small-time crook, Johny, to infiltrate into a group of smugglers which is headed by Rai Bhupinder Singh (Premnath) whose right-hand man is Moti / Mohan (Pran) who is the lost brother of Sohan. To get hold of Rai Bhupinder Singh's gang and trace his hideout Johny is accompanied by the beautiful Rekha (Hema Malini) in the mission who is in search of her long last father.
