Surekha Sikri was an Indian TV and film actress who made her acting debut in the 1978 controversial movie Kissaa Kursee Kaa. She featured in popular TV serials like Bharat Ek Khoj, Sanjha Chula, Banegi Apni Baat, Balika Vadhu, etc. She won the National Film Award on three occasions for Tamas (1988), Mammo (1995) and Badhaai Ho (2019). She won the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actress for Badhaai Ho in 2019. Her other memorable works have been in films like Salim Langde Pe Mat Ro, Sardari Begum, Zubeidaa, Jo Bole So Nihaal, Dev.D, etc. She breathed her last on 16 July 2021 at the age of 75 following a cardiac arrest.
