Vikram Gokhale was an Indian filmmaker and film, television, and stage actor, who was noted for his work in Marathi and Hindi films and plays. Son of Marathi theatre and film actor, Chandrakant Gokhale, Vikram Gokhale started his acting career with the 1971 film Parwana, in which he played the role of a Jr. Police Inspector. Some important movies of his career include Swarg Narak (1978), Insaaf (1987), Agneepath (1990), Tum Bin (2001), Madhoshi (2005), Bhool Bhulaiyaa (2007), De Dana Dan (2009), Hichki (2018), Mission Mangal (2019), etc. His great-grandmother Durgabai Kamat was the first female actor of the Indian screen, while his grandmother Kamlabai Gokhale was the first female child actor in Indian cinema. He breathed his last in Pune on 26 November 2022 at the age of 82.
