Hifazat is a family action drama. The movie revolves around Satyaprakash (Pran Sikand) and his family. Satyaprakash is a wealthy man who is married to Laxmi (Nutan). After three consecutive still-births, Satyaprakash is afraid that Laxmi will not be able to give him a son, thus his mother asks him to remarry. He then marries Rukmani (Bindu). Soon after, Laxmi gives birth to a son and names him Rajkumar, and Rukmani too gives birth to a son and names him Lakhan (Shakti Kapoor). However, Rajkumar is abducted and then Satyaprakash is arrested for the murder of a contractor. Rukmani takes over Satyaprakash’s business and starts to mistreat Laxmi. Years later, a man named Ram (Anil Kapoor) returns, claiming that he is the lost son of Laxmi and Satyaprakash. The question remains, is he really Rajkumar or just claiming to be him to get a share of Satyaprakash’s wealth?
