Mard is an action romantic drama. The movie is set in pre-independence India and follows the story of a young brave man named Raju (Amitabh Bachchan). He is the son of wealthy Raja Azaad Singh (Dara Singh), who was locked in a dungeon by a cruel British General Dyer, who took over his wealth, and threw his family away from the property. However, Raju is all grown up and prepared to seek revenge from the wrong doers of his father. Will Raju be able to finally reunite with his father and get the better of the British?
