Mumbai Meri Jaan is a Bollywood drama that deals with the aftermath of the 11 July 2006 train bombing. It revolves around ordinary people – Rupali Joshi (Soha Ali Khan), Nikhil Agarwal (R. Madhavan), Suresh (Kay Kay Menon), and Thomas (Irrfan Khan). Rupali Joshi is a successful reporter who learns that her fiancé died in the blasts. Nikhil Agarwal takes a local train to work every day and is too afraid to take a train after the blast. Suresh is a struggling computer tech who criticizes Muslims and blames them for the blasts. Thomas is a street vendor who calls in a fake bomb scare to take out his frustration. Everyone is struggling with the aftermath of the tragic incident in their lives.
