R. Madhavan is an Indian actor, writer, director, and film producer. He made his film debut with Gautham Menon-directed romantic drama Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein (2001). It was unsuccessful at the box office, but R. Madhavan’s performance was well received by the audience. It was followed by his lead roles in movies like Dil Vil Pyar Vyar (2002), Mumbai Meri Jaan (2008), 3 Idiots (2009), Tanu Weds Manu (2011), Jodi Breakers (2012), and Tanu Weds Manu Returns (2015). In 1999, he married his long-time girlfriend Sarita Birje.
