1. Parveen Babi (1976)
The iconic Bollywood actress and diva of the 70s and 80s, Parveen Babi became the first Indian star to grace the TIME magazine cover in 1976. The accompanying feature was called Asia's Frenetic Film Scene, which allegedly didn’t go down too well with some of the then-Hindi film industry fraternity people.
