Deven Verma was an Indian film and television actor, producer and director who was known for his comic roles or important character roles. He started his acting career in Bollywood with the 1961 film Dharmputra, directed by Yash Chopra. He is best known for his work in movies like Buddha Mil Gaya (1971), Chori Mera Kaam (1975), Besharam (1978), Chor Ke Ghar Chor (1978), Judaai (1981), Angoor (1982), Hulchul (1995), and many more. He was married to Rupa Verma, daughter of veteran actor Ashok Kumar.
