Sunil Dutt was an Indian actor, filmmaker, and politician. He started his acting career in Bollywood with Ramesh Saigal’s Railway Platform (1955). It was followed by his successful movies like Mother India (1957), Sadhna (1958), Insaan Jaag Utha (1959), Sujata (1959), Mujhe Jeene Do (1963), Khandan (1965), Mera Saaya (1966), Padosan (1967), Gumraah (1963), Waqt (1965), Hamraaz (1967), Heera (1973), Nagin (1976) and Shaan (1980). He continued to act in supporting roles since the 1980s. He has directed films like Yaadein (1964), Reshma Aur Shera (1971), Rocky (1981), Dard Ka Rishta (1983), and Yeh Aag Kab Bujhegi (1991). In 1958, he married actress Nargis whom he met on the sets of Mother India, and fell in love. The couple has three children including actor Sanjay Dutt. Daughter Namrata Dutt is married to actor Kumar Gaurav who is the son of late Bollywood actor Rajendra Kumar.
