Sushant Singh Rajput was an Indian actor, who had worked in Indian television serials and films. He dropped out of his engineering course, in order to follow his passion for acting and joined a theatre in Mumbai. He featured as a background dancer in the ‘Dhoom Again’ song of Dhoom 2 (2006), and soon after he bagged the role in Ekta Kapoor television serial Kis Desh Mein Hai Mera Dil (2008-2010). He made his acting debut in Bollywood with the 2013 sports drama Kai Po Che!, directed by Abhishek Kapoor, which was based on the Chetan Bhagat novel ‘The 3 Mistakes of My Life’. Important movies of his career include Shuddh Desi Romance (2013), PK (2014), M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story (2016), Raabta (2017), Kedarnath (2018), Chhichhore (2019), Dil Bechara (2020), etc. At the age of 34, the actor was found dead on 14th June 2020 in his home in Bandra, Mumbai, and it was called a ‘clear case of suicide’.
