Gadar: Ek Prem Katha is an action romantic drama set during India's partition period where Tara Singh (Sunny Deol) a truck driver saves Sakeena (Amisha Patel) a Muslim girl from the clutches of rioters. Tara vows to help Sakeena unite with her family in Pakistan but both fall in love and get married in India. Years later Sakeena establishes contact with her father in Pakistan and travels to meet him. On knowing what happened to his daughter in India he refuses to send her back as Tara along with his son sets out to get her back from Pakistan.
