Pati Patni Aur Tawaif is a romantic family drama. The movie revolves around a famous Bollywood actor-director Vijay Saxena (Mithun Chakraborty), who lives happily with his wife Shanti (Farha Naaz) and a child. Vijay gets introduced to a new heroine of his movie, Gauri (Salma Agha), who is a prostitute in real. Vijay gets intimate with her and Gauri gets pregnant with his baby, and delivers a baby girl. This disrupts Vijay's happy married life. The question remains, whom will Vijay choose now, Shanti or Gauri?
