Sawaal is an action family drama. The movie follows the story of a man named Dhanpathrai Mehta (Sanjeev Kumar), who is a powerful smuggler and lives a wealthy lifestyle with his daughter Sonia (Poonam Dhillon). They lead a very comfortable life; however, things take a turn when Sonia falls in love with a cop named Inspector Ravi Malhotra (Shashi Kapoor). The situation compels Dhanpathrai to give up his criminal lifestyle to secure his daughter’s happiness. Now the question is whether Dhanpathrai chooses his wealth or his daughter’s happiness?
