Javed Khan Amrohi was a popular stage, Bollywood film and television actor who mostly appeared in comic and supporting roles. He featured in more than 170 movies and TV series spanning over five decades. He started his acting by performing in stage plays before getting his first break in Jalte Badan and Zanjeer in 1973. His other notable works were in popular films like Noorie (1979), Naram Garam (1981), Sadak (1991), Bol Radha Bol (1992), Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke (1993), Andaaz Apna Apna (1994), Lagaan (2001) and Chak De! India (2007), etc. His last appearance was in Mahesh Bhatt’s Sadak 2 (2020). Some of his popular TV shows were Yeh Jo Hai Zindagi (1984), Nukkad (1986), Mirza Ghalib (1988) and Ghar Jamai (1997), etc. He passed away in Mumbai on 14 February 2023 at the age of 73.
