Ram Teri Ganga Maili is a social romantic musical drama. The movie follows the story of a young woman named Ganga (Mandakini), who lives near Gangotri, and meets a wealthy man named Naren (Rajiv Kapoor), who visits Gangotri, the source of holy river Ganga, to get some water for her grandmother. However, the two fall in love with each other and get married, but Naren has to return to his home in Kolkata to inform his family about his wife. Later, Ganga finds out that she is pregnant and gives birth to a baby boy. After waiting for so long, Ganga decides to go to Kolkata to find Naren. Once in Kolkata, she learns that Naren’s marriage is arranged to another woman. Will Ganga ever unite with Naren and give her son the name of his father?
