Pritish Nandy was a prominent poet, writer, painter, journalist, politician, and producer in Bollywood. He founded Pritish Nandy Communications Ltd., a Mumbai-based Indian content company in 1993 which produced TV programs like serials and chat shows on Doordarshan and later ventured into film production making popular movies like ‘Kuch Khatti Kuch Meethi’ (2001), ‘Bollywood Calling’ (2001), ‘Sur’ (2002), ‘Kaante’ (2002), ‘Jhankaar Beats’ (2003), ‘Mumbai Matinee’ (2003), ‘Chameli’ (2003), ‘Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi’ (2003), ‘Popcorn Khao! Mast Ho Jao’ (2004), ‘Shabd’ (2005), ‘Pyaar Ke Side Effects’ (2006), ‘Shaadi Ke Side Effects’ (2014), and ‘Mastizaade’ (2016). He also produced the web series ‘Four More Shots Please!’ and ‘Modern Love Mumbai’. He breathed his last in Mumbai on 08 January 2025 at the age of 77.
