Vinod Mehra was an Indian actor, producer and director. He started his acting career as a child artist in Bollywood and appeared in movies like Adl-E-Jehangir (1955), Sharada (1957), Bewakoof (1960) and Angulimaal (1960). As an adult, he made his debut in Bollywood with Roop K. Shorey’s comedy-thriller Ek Thi Reeta (1971) alongside Tanuja. It was followed by his successful movies like Parde Ke Peeche (1971), Elaan (1971), Amar Prem (1972), Lal Patthar (1972), Anuraag (1972), Nagin (1976), Ghar (1978), Saajan Bina Suhagan (1978), Jaani Dushman (1979), and Jurmana (1979). He made his directorial debut with Gurudev which was released in 1993. He married thrice, his first two marriages were to Meena Broca and actress Bindiya Goswami, and both the marriages were short-lived and childless. His third wife was Kiran, with whom he had two children, actors Soniya Mehra and Rohan Mehra. This marriage ended with his death in 1990.
