Pamela Chopra was a well-known playback singer, producer, screenwriter and costume designer who primarily worked in the Hindi film industry. She was the wife of veteran Bollywood film director and producer Yash Chopra and made her debut as a story writer and playback singer in Kabhi Kabhie in 1976. As a singer she lent her voice for films like Trishul, Kaala Patthar, Aaina, Doosara Aadmi, Noorie, Silsila, Bazaar, Sawaal, Lorie, Faasle, Chandni, Lamhe, Darr, and Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, etc. and produced films such as Dil To Pagal Hai and Aaina. She was the mother of producer-director Aditya Chopra and actor Uday Chopra while actress Rani Mukerji was her eldest daughter-in-law.
