Prayag Raj was one of Bollywood’s most prominent writer, actor, lyricist and director whose career spanned over three decades since making his debut as an actor playing titbit roles in Aag, Awaara, Jab Jab Phool Khile, and Sachaa Jhutha. As a screenwriter he wrote many memorable movies like Roti (1974), Dharam Karam (1975), Amar Akbar Anthony (1977), Parvarish (1977), Dharam Veer (1977), Suhaag (1979), Naseeb (1981), Coolie (1983), Mard (1985), etc. He made his directorial debut in 1972 with Kundan which was followed by Ponga Pandit, Chor Sipahee, Coolie, Geraftaar, Hifazat and Gair Kaanooni, etc. He breathed his last in Mumbai on 23 September 2023 at the age of 88.
