Farida Jalal, an Indian actress, made it to Bollywood after winning the talent contest sponsored by Filmfare. She made her acting debut in Bollywood with Tarachand Barjatya’s Taqdeer (1967). It was followed by her other successful movies like Aradhana (1969), Paras (1971), Bobby (1973), Majboor (1974), Shaque (1976), Jurmana (1979), Henna (1991), Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (1995), Kya Kehna (2000), Taarzan: The Wonder Car (2004), Batti Gul Meter Chalu (2018) and Jawaani Jaaneman (2020). She has been active in Bollywood since 1967 and her roles progressed from girlfriend or sister to mother or aunt to grandmother. In 1978, she married actor Tabrez Barmavar and they have a son named Yaseen.
