Aruna Irani is an Indian actress who has acted in over 500 films. She has mostly appeared in supporting or character roles, throughout her career. Her mother, Saguna Irani was also an actress. She started her career in Bollywood with the 1961 film Gungi Ladki. She was mostly typecast in the roles of an evil sister or wicked mother-in-law of the lead. Some of her most notable works include Anpadh (1962), Jahanara (1964), Farz (1967), Upkar (1967), Aulad (1968), Devi (1970), Do Phool (1973), Fakira (1976), Sargam (1979), Rocky (1981), Pet Pyaar Aur Paap (1984), Beta (1992), etc. She is married to filmmaker Kuku Kohli.
